Carpe Diem for PEBL

Dear all,

The University International Office, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology ( LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Nigeria, in collaboration with The Association Commonwealth Universities, United Kingdom and Staff and Educational Development Association (SEDA), United Kingdom on Partnership for Enhanced and Blended Learning West Africa (PEBL-WA) project invites interested academic staff members to a 4-day training workshop titled “Repurposing existing courses for Blended Learning using the Carpe Diem Process”, being fully funded by Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), Australia.

The Carpe Diem process is a respected approach to repurposing existing course materials for blended and online delivery, designed based on research by Professor Gilly Salmon and refined at the University of Bournemouth and Anglia Ruskin University. Salmon (2013) makes the case that students thrive in an online learning environment when they are supported. This training will guide academic staff through the theory and practice of the carpe diem process.

There will be two batches for the workshop, each will be two days with 60 participants. Certificate of attendance and Data will be given to successful participants. The details of the workshop are as follows:

Date:  24th and 25th October 2022 (Batch A), 26th and 27th October 2022 (Batch B)

Venue: The Hall, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso.

Time:  9.00 am daily
